Students of Japanese Visit Anime Exhibition at Redtory Guangzhou
A few days ago, several teachers and students from SCBC’s Asian Languages and Cultures Department went to an anime exhibition featured “Japan: the Kingdom of Classic Anime Characters” at the Redtory Art and Living District in Guangzhou. Co-organized by the Consulate-General of Japan in Guangzhou, the Japan Foundation, and Guangzhou Redtory Art & Design, this exhibition was to present the most popular anime characters in Japan since the 1950s, including their characteristics, background of creations, and influence on Japanese society.
SCBC Teachers at Training Seminar for “Teaching Spanish as a Second or Foreign Language”
Recently, Ms. Xu Tingfang, head of Spanish Teaching Section, and Ms. Zhou Yakun, a Spanish teacher, of SCBC’s European Languages and Cultures Department, have participated in the 6th Training Seminar for Teaching Spanish as a Second or Foreign Language, which was co-organized by the Education Office of the Embassy of Spain in China and Beijing Cervantes Institute at Peking University.
The training was focused on the intercultural issues in Spanish classrooms in China. At the seminar, foreign language experts from Spain put forward several prominent problems in Spanish class based on their observation, analysis and evaluation of Spanish teaching in China. The participants engaged in the intense discussion were all willing to share their opinions and teaching experience with the group.
